The complete medieval reconstruction

final reconstruction.PNG

The three reconstructed panels together as they would have been presented in a medieval church.

Lastly, I have shown my three reconstructed panels together as they would have been placed in a medieval church. The three stained-glass windows would have represented the narrative of John’s life and the important Christian virtues that he symbolized. Where the original 15th century window focuses on the realistic replication of three snapshots of John’s life, the medieval glass would have symbolized the characteristics that medieval Christian should have strived to emulate. John the Baptist represents the coming of judgement and the importance of repentance to get to heaven, as well as the importance of martyrdom and strength in faith.
